Travel around Koh Chang, Thailand
 |
Koh Chang and the surrounding 52 islands are now becoming one of the most
popular holiday island destinations in Thailand.
As Thailand’s second largest island and its natural diversity it was no wonder,
it offers the best beaches in Thailand, the island is one big National Nature
Park. |
Koh Chang is for about 70 percent covered by mountainous untouched
rainforest that in some places is present right down to the water edge. With
breathtaking sceneries of multitude of wildlife, some unbelievable stunning
waterfalls, and marine life a holiday to one of the 10 other island which
can be visited will not be something that men forget easily. Most of this
other islands lay South of the main island, with Koh Kood being the furthest
and the fourth biggest island in Thailand.
White Sand
Beach
White Sand beach or Had Sai Khao as it is called by the locals,
is some 2km in length and although it probably the most
developed area of Koh Chang it is still offers a magnificent
backdrop of jungle clad mountains, fine powdery white beach sand
and spectacular sunsets.
It is the most popular place to stay on the Island and offers
the most diverse ranging from simple shacks to 5 star luxury
units. White Sand Beach is with a doubt the tourist center of
the island, a wide variety of restaurants, shopping plaza,
mini-markets, Internet café’s, banks and ATM’s which take all
sorts of bank and credit cards.
|
Chang Noi Beach
The half moon bay, at the northern tip of Koh Chang, is very
scenic with a cape and a long stretch of palm fringed white
sand.
There is a small housing community on Chaing Noi Beach of villas
and a marina with about 200 moorings for boats.
Chang Noi is about 10 minutes by motorcycle from the bright
lights and busy nightlife of Whites Sand Beach. At White Sand
Beach you will find plenty of bars and beachfront restaurants
serving Western, Indian, and Chinese, and of course Thai food,
in addition to delicious local seafood.

Klong Phrao
Beach
Despite its remarkably beautiful and seemingly endless curved
sweeping beach, Klong Phrao Beach remained a mystery to most
before the last few years. However, now its clear waters are
lined with exclusive resorts that are sandwiched between without
doubt one of the most spectacular beaches on Koh Chang Island,
and highly visible unspoilt rain forest. Klong Phrao Beach is
true slice of paradise with coconut trees hanging gracefully
over gentle shallow waters lapping at the shore. And although it
is much less commercial than White Sand Beach there is still
plenty of activities on offer including snorkeling or diving,
fishing and kayaking.
For snorkeling the underwater visibility is on a clear quiet day
around 10 meters, the visibility changes quickly the bigger
waves become, and then the silting and mud severally restrict
the visibility. On the main road, which cut threw the Klong
Phrao Beach area, are an wide selection of restaurants and shops
offering everything you can which for, with the two shopping
plazas at the Chai Chet end offering the most activity away from
the beach.
|
Kai Bae Beach
Kai Bae Beach is one incredibly stunning bay with just a few
bungalows that gave the impression of having your own private
section of white sand beach. These days it is a bit more
developed and mostly popular with local Thai weekend travelers.
In the high season, which start early November and ends on the
end of April legions of fans come back year after year, and
because of the relentless opening of new establishments there is
much choice of entertainment, which has to be above average to
survive.

Lonely Beach
Or Tha Nam Beach as Lonely Beach is called by the locals and
more experienced traveler, is precise what you looking for if
you want a nice beach and not as developed as some other
beaches.
Lonely Beach started out as the top destination for backpackers
who liked some quiet and relaxing beach time, now-a-days Lonely
Beach area has wonderful views, and has developed in a perfect
balance of peaceful harmonic beach front with just enough
development on the costal area to keep people entertained
without losing unique relaxing ability.
